Sweet Seaweed Chutney


Seaweed, tomatoes, onions, sugar, white wine Vinegar, garlic, spices.


Sodium metabisulphite, nuts, peanuts, sesame, trace molluscs and crustacea



This is our sweet version of the chutney for those that don’t like Spicer version of our chutney. The main ingredient is Seaweed, that we sustainably hand harvest from the beautifully clean waters that surround the Isle of Mull.  Per jar there is approximately 30g of seaweed.  The seaweed we use is kelp, that we carefully clean to remove any Crustacea there may be, and then add to the tomatoes, onions, garlic, white wine vinegar, sugar and spices and cook until the chutney comes to the correct consistency.

The sweet chutney, because it is a little sweeter goes very well with stronger flavoured cheeses, just like our lovely local Isle of Mull Cheddar.  A favourite dish in our house is an omelette with Isle of Mull Cheddar, with a couple of spoons our Sweet Chutney mixed through the egg mixture before cooking.
